She attended Star Valley High School where she discovered her love for music and excelled in playing the violin.
After high school Wanda attended Brigham Young University where she met Grant M. Hulet at the first dance. They were married on November 21, 1951 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They spent most of their married life in Holladay, Utah, where they raised their five children. They also hosted a Native American foster child, Gary Tallis, who was the same age as their two youngest sons and who lived with them for three years. Their sixth child, Carl, died as an infant.
Wanda eventually graduated from BYU in childhood education and worked as a preschool aide and later went on to graduate from Weber State in nursing. She worked in the substitute nursing pool at Cottonwood Hospital for 15 years. She spent many years in the Boy Scouts teaching and mentoring the Guide Scouts, and after her many years of service, Wanda was awarded the Silver Beaver award, the highest award in Scouting.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving every year, was an excellent seamstress and made clothing for her children. She held various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel.
Wanda and Grant served a mission together in Kenya, Africa, where they met many different people and served in different capacities and in varied ways. They had interesting and treasured experiences in Kenya.
In her free time, Wanda enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and being with her large posterity, including 18 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
