Yvonne Nordell Dehm, age 97, died July 3, 2021 in Salt Lake City.
She was born January 24,1924, in Eaton Colorado, the daughter of Arthur Edwin and Irene Salberg Nordell. She married in 1948, later divorced. She was the loving mother of twin daughters, Andrea Louise and Barbara Gail.
Yvonne was educated in Colorado, graduating from Eaton High School and later attending the University of Denver. Following her divorce, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Masters of Science in Educational Psychology at the University of Utah. She worked for the State of Utah in Human Services as a consultant in occupational alcoholism, assisting business and state agencies to develop programs to intervene and offer treatment to employees with substance abuse problems, and in Human Resources.
Yvonne had a zest for life. She was active in her church and in community services for individuals with disabilities. She was a member of Chapter O, P.E.O. Sisterhood. Her interests included travel, music, reading, bridge, tennis and golf, through which she developed valued friendships.
Her primary dedication was to her daughters. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea. Sadly, she lost Barbara on March 21, 2018. She was also proceeded in death by two brothers, Charles and Dean, and two sisters, Louise and Midge.
There will be a memorial service for Yvonne at Holladay United Church of Christ, 2631 Murray Holladay Rd on July 15, 2021 at 11:00am.
Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
