Sharon was born October 18, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Josepha Ugelstad and Alfred Hilmo.

She passed away on January 23, 2016 in the Hospice Care Center at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City.

She married Sherald (Shade) Baldwin on March 25, 1965, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent the next 51 wonderful years raising their family together.

Sharon loved playing games and laughing with her family and friends. She developed a healthy love of the outdoors at an early age ice skating on the local lakes in Minnesota, and shared her love of the outdoors with her children by way of numerous camping and hiking trips as well as a variety of other outdoor adventures. She enjoyed watching scary movies behind her clasped hands, baking cookies with her grandson, and learning more about the gospel.

While her older daughter was away at college, while raising her 2 younger children and working a full time job with the Utah State Lab, Sharon somehow found the time to get a degree as a Microbiologist, which she used to advance her career with the Utah State Lab testing for viruses, examining dog brains for Rabies, and working with lab mice.  She took advantage of the readily available mouse supply and made mice earrings for her world famous witch costume complete with the bone chilling cackle that was well known in the neighborhood.

Sharon also loved teaching. She worked as a teacher's aide at Canyon Rim Elementary school helping disabled children, as well as helping teach the Girl Scouts skills like cooking and sewing and first aid.

While having only 73 years here on earth, Sharon provided more than a lifetime of love and happiness to her family, friends and those around her.  She was a selfless person with an abundantly charitable heart.  She enjoyed quilting for charity with her friends, cooking meals and goodies for those in need, and spending quality time with her family.  Sharon's last few years were a fierce battle with Cardio Pulmonary Hypertension, but her Viking Warrior spirit never wavered enabling her to greatly outlive her doctor's original predictions.

She is survived by her husband, Shade; children, Sara and her husband Steve, Wendy and her husband Kevin, Wade and his wife Dawnann and their three children Kalob, Axton, and Haiden; and also her brother, Ron Hilmo and his wife Jane.
