I was sorry to hear about Gary dying. He actually baptized me. Im now 68. I live in Bloomington with my husband Rulen. We raised our family here. I had a deep respect for Gary and all the Findlays. We bought our first home from John. He was one of our witnesses at our wedding. 52 yrs. ago. We lived in the "old Findlay" home for 20 yrs. Thanks for all the memories and friendship over the years. Gary was a great man and a true example to me in my youth. He was my scout and cub scout leader. He will be missed.

Dear Jerry, Denise, Kathy, Caroline and Mike,

How we will miss your Dad. A truer friend we have not had. Our week will not be the same without seeing him in his preferred seat at Sacrament Meeting and always, always visiting with him afterward. We would talk about Scouting, about Family Histories, how Alex is doing and about all of you. I was thrilled to hear of all your accomplishments and the Grand Children. He was so proud of each of you and your children.
Your Dad's service and friendship to our family will be forever treasured. His work in Scouting is a bench mark for many in the program. He never quit. We were working in Cubs together these last 5 years. Your Dad had a lot to do with our two sons earning their Eagles. Gary made sure that I got the mother's neckerchief with the two stars on it. He knew that would mean so much to me. He would tease me that now I have a chance to get a third star when Alex earns his Eagle. I told him we needed him to be there for that. I can only imagine how many Scouts have been helped by Gary Findlay over these many years.
Your Dad is one of the "north stars" in my life. He has been true and constant all these many years. Quietly doing what is right and kind. No fanfare or or public show. Steady, kind, caring and true to his standards and the example of Our Savior.
We are forever grateful for him and for his friendship. We love you all,
Bill and Gayle Hadfield and family

Gary was always the concumate professional in every endeavor. His involvement and dedication were extraordinary in every way, but he lived his life in a quiet, unassuming manner, a true gentleman in every respect. I had the great honor, priviledge and pleasure to know Gary for several years, in various capacities. His service to his country and state in the Utah Air National Guard, and specifically the 109th Air Control Squadron, was exceptional and always with honor. He set a very high standard that we should all seek to follow. He was a true loyal friend, colleague, and supporter, never hesitating to voice his compassion for his friends. I know he leaves a void in the lives of so many people and he will be dearly missed. In his time here he has left an indelible mark on the world and all whose lives he touched. His memory lives on. As always, until we meet again, "press on," old friend!

I met Gary when I was transferred into his unit in the Utah Air National Guard. As a young airman he was wonderful mentor and our relationship evolved into a great friendship. I have many terrific memories serving with him in the military. I'm sure you are very proud of the fine legacy he leaves behind.

What an amazing man! He will be SORELY missed by our ward family because he made it a point to know everyone and give us all a warm smile, word, and handshake. I'm saddened to lose THE best home teacher I've ever had. I've said at church during lessons on home and visiting teaching, "I'm sorry that all of you can't have the best home teacher in the ward like I do." What a warm and loving man you have all been blessed with as a father, brother, grandfather!

It was a happy reunion for Jaden and the blanket Jaden is 16 now and just barely stop using the blanket! I was one thankful mother. He was so loving and kind. I met Gary when I transferred from the USAF to the Utah Air Guard in 1980. He was very kind and next to being in the Air Guard he really loved Scouting. He was a great influence through his Scouting and his military career. My condolences to you, his family. He met his calling in this life and we are all blessed by his friendship.
