Dear Recksiek Family,
We were so sorry to learn of Marlene's passing just one day before we were to leave on a European tour. That meant we could not attend her funeral service which we are sure was as lovely as she was. I was Marlene's visiting teacher for some years before she moved from the 11th ward. It was a highlight of my month to go into her beautiful, peaceful home and visit with her. She loved to tell us about her family and so I feel I know at least a little about each of you. We served two missions in Germany and that gave us a special connection to Marlene and Heinz and all of you. I was able to visit her on occasion when she moved to the care center. I think she was happy there, but she had a talent for making the best of any situation. I usually took her pear tomatoes from our garden in the summer, but this year our crop was so poor I did not do it. Now I am sorry that I did not go to her, even if it was empty handed. I had planned to take Stollen to her at Christmas time. Please accept out sincere condolences at the passing of your admirable mother. She was faithful and courageous and a role model for all who knew her.
With our love and prayers - Bruce and Pat Lake

The gospel of Jesus Christ helps thru this difficult time . But to know we will miss them and they miss us too. Sorrow is part of our experiencing someone departure to the present of our Heavenly Father . She has left a legacy in your family that will last for more generations to come.. My mother said one time to me would we want to be selfish about our loved ones needing to go and I thought about and realized that it's good to let them go but that we a forever family. with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and Heavenly Mother. Our loved ones will keep a close eye on us here . I have often feel the present of my Grandma Franklin she has been gone for a long time. Heavenly Father sends our loved ones when we ask them to be near.

Charlene Family & Friends. Its sad to lose someone in death. What helped me the most was prayers and faith in God’s promise at Psalm 34:18 “God is close to the broken heart: he saves those who are crushed in spirit.” For more comforting scriptures, please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. God’s Kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for will bring about these wonderful promises. My prayers are with you at this difficult time. I you wish to contact me at: ikeyes@msn.com

Steve, I was so sad to hear about your mom's passing. She was a very sweet and kind woman and always dressed to impress. I'm glad she gets to be with Heinz now, but it's never easy for the ones left behind. My deepest sympathy to you, Bonnie and the family.

We surely loved your mother and father. Marlene was always a bright light at church. I remember Heinz bearing his powerful testimony in sacrament meeting. It brings joy to me to know they are know together forever. They will be missed,
