Dear Mary and family,
I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your dear husband and father. I met Mike at the Brightwork Cottage while taking my relative there. I always said hi to Mike and when I asked how he was doing I would not always but quite often get a "thumbs up". I could tell that behind that crazy challenge he had was a very warm, friendly man. I know it is hard to lose a loved one but I know you must be at peace knowing he is released from the disease he patiently endured. I will miss seeing you each week Mary, and pray for you and your family at this difficult time. God bless you all!
Sincerely, Merri Bailey

To Mike's Family:
I have not been in touch for a number of years but remember fondly the gang at Dixon Glass, Frank, Ivy, Mike and John. I pray the tender mercies of the Lord will be with you at this time.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike. Mike will be missed by many. He was a true and faithful servant of our Heavenly Father. May you all feel the comfort and love of our Heavenly Father at this tender time. The entire Quist family have always been one of my favorites, always there to help or pick you up when needed.

Dear Mary and family,

We are sorry to be out of town and unable to wish you our love and condolences in person. Having only lived in the ward for 4 years we did not have the great privelege to know Mike as he truly is but knowing you Mary, Mirinda, and Kathy, I'm sure Mike was equally amazing, kind, loving, patient, and full of service! We think so highly of the Quist and McLaren families and pray for our Savior's sweet comfort to enfold you and bring the peace that only He can offer.

Much love,
Mark and Nancy Siddoway

I have known Mike for the 29 years that we have lived in the 4th Ward. Mike and I served in the Boy Scouts program together. What a joy it was! The scouts all loved "Bash" as they affectionately would call him. Mike loved the Scout games, especially the canoe wars with the other troops. No one was stronger or more skilled at tipping the other canoes over and leaving the occupants completely trenched. What a team Mary and Mike are, raising their kids and enduring to the end together. Always faithful in fulfilling church assignments that came their way. We love you Mike and Mary. Jay and Anita Rice.
