Shirley passed away peacefully November 10, 2016 from complications from a fall in September surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her 4 children: Karen (Chris) Pedersen, Dave (Alyce), Marty, and Sherm (Candy). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Joel), Kathy (Cyrus), Carrie (Colt), Wesley, Forrest, Dio, Nari, three great granddaughters, Lucy, Leah & Madison & two step great grandsons, Josh & Gage, two sisters, Dorothy Hale and Joan Hodges. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Don, granddaughter Connie Jo Bone & her two brothers, Frank & George.
She met her sweetheart Don at West High School, graduating from West in 1947. Don & Shirley were married in 1949. She became a comptometer operator and started working at Conoco Oil. She quit her job after her first child was born but continued to work for Victor Temporaries using her comptometer skills doing inventories for companies such as Z.C.M.I. and JC Penney’s. She also worked at Paul’s Ice Cream Palace. After her kids were grown, she went to work for Dr. Ed Tugaw in his Veterinarian Clinic. She loved working with animals.
She enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden. She took great pride in her fruits and vegetables and enjoyed sharing her produce with her friends and neighbors. She always thought of others before herself. She was a good mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend & neighbor and she will be missed by all who knew & loved her. We would like to thank Life Care Center Rehab for their help after mom fell and Silverado Care Center & Hospice for their tender care.
