Dear Tara, Schipaanboord Family, Relatives, and Close Friends,
Karen and I were very saddened to see the obituary for Wayne--one of the good guys! Please accept our sincere sympathies and condolences as you deal with this loss and transition.. We love the Schipaanboord Family! Our family's relationships goes back to the Netherlands in the 1940's where Wayne's beautiful Mother served my grandparents and my parents as a Missionary in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later, when Wayne's Mother married one of the very best men this world had to offer, Jack Schipaanboord, our relationships continued. Wayne married and when he and his bride moved into the Arbor Ward for a short time, my mother, Gonny Vander Veur Dissel, could not have been happier. I remember Wayne and Mom laughing more than they talked--they were crazy together (Dutch sense of humor). Wayne had such a great a wonderful way about him and a really great sense of humor. I'm fairly certain that the two of them are laughing and smiling again as these relationships continue. WE are so thankful for all of the goodness and great times the years have blessed us with knowing Wayne and his extended family.
May you know of our love for you. May you also know of the wonderful impact that Wayne has had upon the world in which we live. We are so saddened that we have been out-of-town on business and are still out. We would loved to have supported you during this tender time.
Our love,
Frederik and Karen Gasparac Dissel

We lost one of the truly best public servants! One of the finest officers I've known in my career.

Tara,
It was with sadness we read in the paper of Wayne's passing. My first adult calling in the Church was serving with Wayne in the Elders Quorum Presidency of the old Valley View 4th ward. He gave Joanne her first ride alone with a police officer and created and interest in police work that has lead to our son working as an officer in West Valley. Know of our love for your family and the memories we have of a great man.

TaraLee: So many good memories flashed by when I saw your Dad's picture. I am ever so sure that Jeff would NOT have finished his Eagle Scout had it not been for him. I am sure he touched many lives with his willingness to help out. Great man! My thoughts are with you and your family at this time. God speed.

Dear Tara,
I felt so sad to come across Skip's obituary in Sunday's paper. What a kind and compassionate man he was. He brought honor and respect to the profession in which he served. I pray for your family's consolation. We've all lost a good one.

We enjoyed great conversations with Wayne when he worked security at the Wells Fargo (then American Stores) building. He always had a humorous story to tell. Such a kind and generous man. He will be missed. Love to Tara and the family.

I am sorry to read of Wayne's passing. I met Wayne when he worked part-time in security at Northwest Pipeline. I also rode along several times with him during his shifts with the SL County Sheriff's Office. I always enjoyed his friendly manner and laughed often at his dry sense of humor. He was a genuinely nice person and friend. Later on I ran into Wayne again at Creekside Care center when my Mother was there. He was a caring and giving person and always ready to go the extra mile in service to others. I wish his Family comfort and peace at this time. This world lost one the truly "good guys"

It has been so long ago, but I worked with Skip at Commerical Security Bank., where he worked part time. He was very fond of my husband as he was a Dutchman. We had many good laughs together. He was such a kind and generous man. I extend my sympathy to his family. May God give you comfort at this very sad time.

Wayne was one of the great ones. We all grew up in the neighborhood, and II even tended the three of them when I turned 12 or so. I remember the marble game that we would play. When my sister Nadra would visit from CA, we'd get together with Dennis, Donna and Wayne, sharing a meal and lots of memories. My son Brian did a ride along with Wayne in his Sheriff's car while on duty. Brian was in college majoring in Criminal Justice, so that was a very special experience for him, and he remembered how Wayne treated him. Wayne and Donna stood in my line when Jim and I married 60 1/2 years ago.
We express our love and sympathy to all of you during this time.
Much love.

I was fortunate to have worked with Wayne 35 years ago. He worked part-time at the former Commercial Bank in downtown Salt Lake. I was new to the business and found Wayne to be very kind to me and always willing to help.. He took some ribbing from some of the staff but responded with grace and patience and, to my knowledge, never got back at anyone. He was so easy going and treated everyone well. He handled "difficult" customers with respect and kindness. Wayne was one of those whose character and example sticks with you. Thanks Wayne. May God bless and comfort his family at this difficult time..

While I haven't been able to see you for several years due to moving away, there are so many fond memories with you and Donna and Dale - just knowing you are gone leaves an empty spot. When I think of you, those thoughts always bring a flood of great times, laughter, and warmth!
Rest in peace cousin, and say 'hi' to your parents for me, and to mine!!
Love ya!

Had great memories of Wayne and Tara while living in the same neighborhood and going to church at the same ward. We appreciated his wit and humor and always making us laugh. We all sensed his testimony of the gospel and enjoyed his spirit. When I was single he would always tell me who he liked and who he didn't like out of my boy friends! I always appreciated his view. We will miss him greatly!
