I am saddened by the loss of somebody that I remember from time spent around the family when the kids where in junior high, he would get us to pass out bumper stickers for the hockey team and we could see the games for free, what a deal. He was part of the legends of the fathers that could scare the hell out of you when he would come into a room of kids sitting around doing kid things and there he was, strong hands stern look on his face asking what we were doing, we never had a good answer but he would listen and we would all scatter to a new location. He would smile as we moved on and I believe he had fun scaring us just so we would not get into much trouble.
He has left a great legacy with the memories for his family and they will always have somebody watching over them, they may not see him but you will know he is there be the way his memories will just pop into your head and you may smile or tear up for no reason.
Remembering those time brings smiles to many faces and you should smile as well to show you were loved by this great man.

I graduated from South High in 1943 and played on the "C" team with Bill in 1942. He was a friend and I liked his mild spirit and genuineness.
