Our sweet mother and “Grammy”, Charlotte Erika Kleist Nolte passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2016.  She and her twin sister Eva were born on March 14, 1927 in Breslau, Germany, to Helmut Kleist and Emma Petzholdt Kleist.  During WWII when Breslau was being bombed, she fled from city to city, ending up in Hannover, Germany.  She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was seventeen.  She met Heinz Nolte in Hannover, and they were married in a double ceremony with her sister Eva and Siegfried Camlott on October 30, 1949.  Charlotte and Heinz immigrated to Utah in July of 1952.  She was active in Church and held many callings.

She is survived by her children, Petra (Leland) Gray, Ditmar Nolte, and Sigrid Nolte; three grandchildren, Kimberly Titus, Brandon (Kara) Titus, and Emily Nolte; and three great-granddaughters, Samantha, Megan and Rachel Titus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday December 16, 2016 at the Forestview Ward, 1111 Charlton Ave. (2815 So.). Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to services at the church. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Humane Society of Utah.

We wish to give special thanks to Osmond Senior Living and to Legacy House for their kindness and the great care they gave to Charlotte. On line memories and tributes can be posted for the family at www.holbrookmortuary.com
