We are sorry to hear of Jack's passing. We were unable to attend the service because we live in Washington State where we have been for the past 23 years. We wish we could have been there. I, Jill, have fond memories of spending time at the farm with his daughter Britt. Jack was always very kind to me. He was a selfless and loving person who loved to help others. I remember being amazed at how committed he was to taking care of his butterfly Jackie when she was so ill. It was always obvious how much he loved her and was concerned for her. We want to tell Britt and Gabriel sorry for your loss and we hope you will find some comfort at this time. We are grateful you have each other and wish you the best in your future.

We are going to miss Jack so much, it is hard to believe he is really gone. He has always been so kind to our family, we could always count on a warm greeting from him. I am happy to know he is with his sweet wife and his son. Although I did not get to meet either of them, I know how much he loved and missed them. I will never forget all that Jack taught me about simply loving others and to always find joy in life. Love you Jack!

We're just one family among so many, many of Jack's neighbors over the years, to whom he did indeed bring smiles, as we crossed paths on morning walks, passed by when he was out in the yard, or were allowed a few minutes' visit inside. He was indeed an institution in our ward and will always be remembered fondly.
